The trafficker will give the girl and her parents small sums of money to gain their trust. But after the girl is released by her parents, she is transferred to an Indian city where she is sold into a prostitution ring. Constant sexual and violent physical abuse then follows, often inflicted by the sex circuit owner as well as by paying customers.
If the girl is over the age of 18, the trafficker may extol the girl’s beauty to her parents and tell them that he wishes to marry her. He will make all kinds of promises, taking advantage of their limited education and experience. Once she is married to him,
he will take her to India and sell her for as little as $60. The trafficker then travels back to Nepal and repeats the process, building a career out of selling innocent girls into lives of sexual slavery, misery and death.
Trafficers come in a variety of forms. Some steal girls & women by drugging them. Neighbors, friends and relatives often feign to take them shopping, to a festival or to a neighboring village, and instead take them across the border to India.
