About us
Fighting for the girls Nepal's poverty leaves behind.
Journey Home Foundation was founded on a simple belief: every girl deserves a future free from fear, exploitation, and poverty — no matter her caste, village, or circumstance.
Our mission
Prevent. Rescue. Restore.
Our mission is to prevent at-risk Nepali girls and women from being kidnapped and turned into sex slaves, and to rescue those who have already suffered the trauma of being trafficked. JHF provides education, job training, housing, and medical support.
Every Nepali girl is at risk of becoming a slave in the big cities of Nepal, or more likely to be transported to India, the Middle East, and Asia. JHF wants to eradicate this risk, one life at a time.

About Nepal
Beneath the beauty, a hidden crisis.
Nestled against the majestic Himalayan mountains, Nepal is home to eight of the world's ten highest peaks and attracts trekkers from around the globe. But the social landscape tells another story — one few tourists hear.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries on earth, with a per capita income of just $700 per year and an unemployment rate of 50 percent. Only 34 percent of native women are literate. This fragile reality makes Nepal a prime target for human traffickers who lure naïve rural women with false promises of employment and a better life.
In Nepali culture, girls are deeply valued by their families — they cook, clean, farm, and care for animals. Yet they are secondary citizens who rarely attend school. Uneducated and vulnerable, they are easily persuaded by predators, or even by their own parents, to leave home in search of income. These women never make it to the life that was promised to them.
What guides us
Our core values
Dignity
Every girl has inherent worth. We build programs that affirm this truth and help women internalize it.
Education
Knowledge is the most powerful protection. We make education accessible to all girls, regardless of caste or background.
Community
Lasting change happens when whole communities are strengthened — not just individuals.
Restoration
Survivors deserve more than rescue. We walk alongside women as they rebuild their lives with skills, support, and hope.
Our people
Driven by purpose, united by mission.
JHF is powered by a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and local partners in Nepal who believe deeply in the dignity of every girl and woman. We work alongside communities — not above them — building trust over time to open dialogue, eliminate stigma, and create lasting change.
Our team in Kathmandu operates the Rehabilitation Home and coordinates outreach programs across rural villages. Our international supporters provide the funding and advocacy that make it all possible.
